The Silang Seminar is an annual conference on major development issues that brings together top-level development and NGO executives, government policy-makers, business CEOs and donor agency heads in meaningful dialogue, with the goal of finding solutions at both the policy and programmatic levels.

This year's conference focused on the problems of underdevelopment in rural Asia with the theme "Rural Enterprises as Drivers for Building Strong Local Economies".

Key areas for discussion: Micro-finance, market infrastructure, technology and human resource development, and enterprise regulation.

The goal: rural enterprise development programs that contribute to the growth of local economies and serve as anchors of development in rural areas.
