In recognition of her 'deep and genuine concern for the poorest of the poor', Dr. Pratima Kale, IIRR President, was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Civil Law by the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee, USA last October.

Ping-sheng Yen Chin, who was for 56 years a dedicated advocate for improving the lives of the rural poor, died on September 3, 2002.

This is a three-week course designed for training managers, training program coordinators, human resources director, and rural development practitioners and specialists who are responsible for training. The course focuses on theories and practices related to training needs analysis (TNA), training program designing and management, and monitoring and evaluation that are applicable to development organizations.
