The Yen
Center is a 54-hectare campus located 35 km outside Manila in
Cavite Province of the Philippines. The Regional Center for Asia
and the headquarters of IIRR are located at the Yen Center. IIRR
shares the campus with the Philippine Rural Reconstruction
Movement. The Yen Center offers a unique setting for the
Institute's work as an international training center. Facilities
include three hostels, a conference center, two training halls and
"function rooms" for workshops and conferences, a
cafeteria and office buildings. Recreational facilities include a
swimming pool, a tennis court and nature trails. Several staff
housing units create a sense of "community" within the
campus.
New
facilities at the Yen Center include a hostel built with funds
provided by German Agro-Action and the Yen Benitez SyCip Center
for Rural Reconstruction built and furnished with funds provided
by Trustee Washington SyCip and descendants of Y. C. James Yen.
The Yen Center is a unique campus
dedicated to training, research and publications on development
issues.
