IIRR Celebrates the Life of James G. (Jimmy) Johnson, Jr.
IIRR staff and Board mourn the loss of Trustee Emeritus, former Board Chair, and long-time friend of IIRR, James G. (Jimmy) Johnson, Jr. Jimmy was an important member of the IIRR community and will be deeply missed. On July 14, 2011, IIRR staff in the Philippines held a celebration of his life for children at a nearby orphanage, making it a day of environmental awareness and inspiration for the children. Staff also made gifts of food, vitamins, clothes, and toys to the children in the spirit of Mr. Johnson’s passionate and long-term charity.
Additionally, IIRR has named its new internship/career development initiative for youth “The Jim Johnson Fellowship”. Oustanding, talented youth internationally will be awarded the fellowship to work with IIRR for 6 months to 1 year, learn community and international development, and build important business skills.
IIRR is currently accepting donations in honor of Jimmy Johnson.
