Privacy Policy
The International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (“IIRR”) may, from time to time, collect and store personal information, including name, telephone number, physical address and e-mail address. Individuals who receive communications from IIRR are free to opt out at any time via mail, phone, e-mail, or the information provided in our newsletters. You can also contact us via these means to request that we delete your personal information from our databases and we will use commercially reasonable efforts to comply with this request, except to the extent we are required to maintain any information pursuant to applicable laws.
In general, we use personal information we collect to engage in the activity for which it was collected (and related activities) and to pursue our mission and operations. For example, and without limitation, if you sign up for a newsletter, we will send you the newsletter and put you on our mailing list; if you donate through our online donation form, we will store your information and the amount donated for our records and put you on our mailing list to receive a newsletter and information about future opportunities. We also may also work with other organizations that have goals similar to the IIRR and, in appropriate cases, personal information may be shared with these organizations in order to pursue such goals. Subject to applicable law, we reserve the right to make all lawful, worldwide uses of personal information, including without limitation, to: collect, use, access (or bar access), process, fulfill, disclose, display, share, respond to legal process or otherwise exercise our rights under applicable law, transfer, store, sell, lease, retain, commingle, investigate, verify, prove, enforce, delete, and otherwise deal with information, whether personal or not (collectively “Use”).
In general, our systems do not provide the ability for you to update your information at this time. If your information has changed, you may submit your new information via mail, phone or e-mail.
We keep personal information for as long as we think is necessary or advisable and we reserve the right to retain it to the full extent not prohibited by law. We may, at our sole discretion, discard personal information, so you should retain your own records, and not rely upon our storage of any personal information or other data.
We do not want to collect information from children. Do not provide any personal information unless you are at least 13 years of age, and please caution your children not to provide any. If a child under 13 has provided personal information, a parent or guardian may so inform us by writing us at the address listed below and we will use commercially reasonable efforts to delete it from our database, subject to applicable law and this policy.
We may, from time to time, change what we do and how and why we Use data—this policy describes what we currently envision, but that will change as we change. We may further amend this policy in whole or in part and such amended versions will be posted on this page. You agree that this policy amends and replaces any previous privacy polic(ies).
