Concepta WaswaFarmer, PO Box 3659, Kitale, Kenya Concepta is a small-scale farmer practising bio-intensive farming. She has been on an outreach programme by Manor House Agricultural Centre, and is currently doing research on maize and legume planting by Environmental Action Team. She has a farm in Tranz-Nzoia district, Kitale. She keeps local chickens and maintains a nursery of indigenous and exotic trees, which she sells to farmers at one shilling per seedling. He is currently the co-ordinator of the regional desk of the PELUM Association, which has more than 60 member organizations promoting sustainable agriculture in eastern and southern Africa.
